The Walnut Street development is proposed to be a new five-story, mixed-use residential building across three existing lots at 626, 640 and 648 Walnut Street. The project will feature 35 residential condominiums and two commercial spaces with two rear parking garages at street level. The condominiums are generously-sized with 3-4 bedrooms and 2-2.5 baths each and can easily accommodate families. Four of the homes will be offered below market rate to increase the supply of affordable housing.
The proposed project is designed to enhance the existing downtown corridor and neighboring residential buildings, while providing new residents with walk-, bike- and commute-friendly housing. The new condos will help address San Carlos housing needs and complement Walnut Street with amenities including two new sidewalk-facing commercial spaces and a beautifully designed public open space at the middle of the building. The project is a high-density urban infill project designed to enhance the streetscape, provide housing and reduce environmental impacts through innovative design and construction.
